The last vote was 8/6/2. We are goin to eliminate the option to stay the same as last year (2 votes), and just give these two choices since it looks like change is wanted. We will go with whatever has the highest number of votes, a simple majority rules. The poll will end on January 13. PLEASE VOTE!
1. A limit of 3 players on waivers at a time on a roster. You still have to have a 25 man roster, but you can have a maximum of 3 waived players. When a player comes off DL, you can waive a player, but if you already have 3 then you need to buy someone out. If you waive a 4th player (accidentally or on purpose), the first player you waived would be automatically bought out. We may also need to have an additional $1 penalty for waiving a 4th player to de-incentivize trying to get away with it.
2. More of a realistic MLB waiver process. If you waive a player, then managers have 48 hours to put in a claim or there is a mandatory buyout. When waiving a player, you must ensure that you have enough money to afford a buyout.
If the rule is changed, it will take effect Feb 20th. This would be a point where everyone is at 25 players.
We will be going to option #2 on February 20th. This will be the new rule going forward. Thanks for voting everyone!

Why claim a player if you can just get them cheaper by bidding on them after they are bought out seems like a pretty big flaw why even have a waiver wire then.
May not be cheaper, there might be multiple people with interest. First come first served if its a player that someone may want. Basically, it is going to turn into a precursor to buyouts I would imagine. Similar to real life.

Sorry but your not getting it. We've been talking about this for weeks now did you not read all the comments we posted regarding this? Not sure why your so adamant on keeping it the same when every single dynasty league does some flavor of the proposed rule. I can maybe see an issue if you are relying on waivers to artificially expand your roster (and I'm not saying it's necessarily what you do). Further, league voted so not much to argue about now.

I read every comment, and none of them convinced me that there needed to be a rule change. I'm not arguing I'm just stating that it wasn't needed. This rule will essentially eliminate waivers from having a significant purpose in this league.
Waivers were also clearly being taken beyond what they were supposed to be used for... I voted for a max of three but I believe both were significantly better alternatives to the shitshow we had last year

Sorry if other teams just beat other teams to the punch and then they got sour and just threw their arms up in the air, next thing you know there is a demand for a change. How about managers actual check the pro boards website daily so that they actual know who is being bid on. Now we are just going to be sitting on money cause we can't spend it unless there is a demotion of a player on a teams roster or a player gets injured. Sounds kind of like a boring in season worth of transactions.

So who cares probably had injuries or something. If you want players bid on them don't inhibit/punish other managers for being on top of shit and being active. Also I doubt Mets really had that many players as Mets has been a strong supporter of the rule change.

It means somehow someway there will be a new "issue" that demands immediate change from somebody that demands all players be bought out and not owned because of a "flaw" that is only beneficial to some but not all.
That's the part I don't understand. The only activity this is going to stop is teams putting players on waivers and then just letting them sit there if they have a bad contract and nobody claims them. The new rule puts them back in free agency in 48 hours which will prompt more activity in people bidding for them.. I saw one waiver move from last year where a team waived a player then reclaimed him a day later then waived him a day later then reclaimed him again and then waived him all in the matter of about 5 days.

You are missing the point that nobody will put anyone on waivers with this rule cause they know two things: 1) Chance of said player being claimed close to zero 2) You are just going to have to buyout anyway so skip this and just do that. Most won't want to buyout players so players will just rot on rosters.

Ryan (Cubs): Technically you should be dropping a player anytime a draft pick or trade takes you over the limit of 20. I must've missed it but Yankees needs to release one of his MiLB players, they are the only team over the limit right now
