even if he doesnt who care with that trade WTH even if the first 2 guy in the trade i will give that a wash but to trade Sale For Fister who isnt even a starter any more and give you 4 mil in salary trades like that why bother like i said WTH
Goldschmidt is a top 3 hitter and Hamilton can win a category by himself... I thought the DBacks got the better end of the deal. Good for both sides IMO
Goldy is a stud and to get premium players you have to "overpay" or else what is the incentive for the owner who has the premium player to make a move.
First off, Fielder/Joc for Goldy does not equate. And that is even if/when Joc gets going like he's capable of.
I see it like this:
Fielder/Sale for GOldy. IN a dynasty, that's legit. Maybe a tad on his side, but I like it for mine.
Then Joc for Ham and eating Fister favors him as well, but as Lee illustrated, must overpay for premium players. So I pay the Fister tax.
But, he's an impending FA, and should be a starter again next year somewhere. Will be overpaid regardless, but may not be entire negative money.
I was lacking in speed this year. Goldy bags from 1b are like his name: Gold. Add in Billy Ham bags- and a hopeful improvement as he's maturing- and now my bags will be tops in the league with Goldy/Machado/McCutchen/Gardner/Billy.
Or I can deal one of Billy/Gardner. Possibly Cutch in the right deal.
Miggy is also now a trade chip, and I can find a Bat/Arm combo somewhere.
In any event, I have shown what I am capable of in this league, and my trade history not only suggests that I know what I am doing, but will also find the pieces to craft my team.
I thank you for your comments, Mike. And that's not sarcasm, as I have spoken up myself when I felt deals were off, so I do not mind answering my side of a deal when concerns are shown about it being off or not. However, this is not one of those instances, as Goldy/Billy Ham combo should be fine.
So yeah, the A's get a great haul, but when moving GOldy/Ham, they should. As I told Lee in private, I hated paying the Fister tax, but that's the price of doing business on a high ticket item.
Yeah, especially when you look at what a premium player pulls in. I gave up Bogaerts and Rodon (Both in the majors and showing promise) plus two B prospects for an injured Stanton.
In PM or not, a tacky action like that is something that deserves to be called out for. You came across very bitter in that PM, basically saying, "You got ripped, so let me rip you, too!"
Just because an action is in PM does not make it right, and you best believe I would call you out on that.
Now, had you asked me, "Hey dude, wtf?" or something, I would have explained. Or had your statement sounding more joking, then I'd laugh you off.
But it reads to me as tacky and bitter. And then I see the posting here, so I explained my trade, as I would to any inquiry. Although it is not required, given that I make my opinions known on deals, I have no problem answering the bell when my moves are asked about.
It is def funny that you mention sending things in PM as if I am in the wrong for calling you out on it "because it was in PM." Sorry bud, but actions are actions and we all gotta own up to them.

Red Sox (Kris): We still have a MAX 20 prospects, correct?
Feb 26, 2024 9:15:10 GMT -5
Ryan (Cubs): Yes. 20 prospects is the MiLB max, you either need to drop a prospect or call someone up if you are over that limit.
Feb 26, 2024 11:56:08 GMT -5
Red Sox (Kris): I don’t, but I know that some do. So, to be clear, we can draft over the 20 limit as long as we cut down before the season starts?
Feb 29, 2024 23:45:26 GMT -5
Ryan (Cubs): Technically you should be dropping a player anytime a draft pick or trade takes you over the limit of 20. I must've missed it but Yankees needs to release one of his MiLB players, they are the only team over the limit right now

Rockies (Jose): Is Yuki Matsui rostered?
Mar 12, 2024 16:15:04 GMT -5
Ryan (Cubs): Technically you can't bid on Yuki in free agency until he pitches an inning in the MLB. You could have drafted him in the MiLB draft, but players that haven't made their debut can't be nominated in Free Agency.

Mariners (Rook): I do believe Ronel Blanco free agent final bid of $3/3 by LAD is invalid and the player should be returned to free agency. That was LAD last transaction and it put his cap -0.25. We can’t go negative cap. What say you?

Ryan (Cubs): @mariners, correct. LAD's bid on Blanco put him $.25 over the cap so the bid is invalidated. I've messaged LAD and dropped Blanco from his roster
