You didn’t like the results so it’s a do over? 11-20 managers voted total contracts. The league has spoken. Your old poll was put online, “after” the last time both replaced managers were online in this league. They never voted, period. How do I know this. I looked it up long time ago because I was pushing for Rodger (Padres) to get a team and I messaged our Commish pointing that out.
So your premise of allowing the new managers to vote falls short.....here is why. I messaged both new managers on January 13, with a link for voting in the poll. Your deadline to vote stated January 15. The vote on the 13th was not a consensus of the league. After the 15th, ( I looked), the vote for total contracts was 11. That’s over 50% of the league.
What is not factional about this post? The original poll results ‘taken’ down should stand.
We voted as a leadership group to re-vote, especially as everyone is active and it should be a quick vote to see where everyone stands. I (along with everyone else) would feel more comfortable having the 20 current managers vote for sure.
*Also, I'm pretty sure each of the Admin have different preferences here, so I don't think there is any reason to think there is possible collusion. Hopefully we have a quick vote to see the thoughts of the league overall

Rockies: Option 2 says that you can have a higher bid by adding a year to the contract (at the same rate)... If I bid $3/1 year, you could beat my offer with: $3.5+ or with $3 and a longer duration of years. If I bid $3/4 years, then the only way to beat my bid is to go $3.5 and any years.
Option 3 is years times dollars. If I bid $3/1 year, then you could beat me with 1.75/2 (giving the player a contract of $3.5) or $1.25/3 years (giving the player a $3.75 contract)

1 and 2 are similar. The difference being #2 you can add years to the contract at the same cost. #1 you have to go up to the next cost to beat the bid.

They are really the same 1 &2. As soon as the guy bumps $4/1 to $4/2...the losing guy just bids $4.5/1. $4.5/1 would have been the next bid anyway under the old system. The $4/2 bid is irrelevant. It’s kind of laughable if you “really” think about it.
19 votes. 11 for a change to total contract. Looks like that will be the move going forward, feel free to edit your response if you want to change before it is decided!

This could really make a mess for a lot of teams next year. As we approach year nine, that is the year when we will have players reaching their second extension point which will really increase some players salaries. Put that together with a few players this year getting 4 or 5 year $25 million contracts in FA, it could be a big challenge

Next year, most huge contracts will be re-signed because there won’t be much talent in free agency and there is a bunch of cap floating around the league. Or the huge contract will be traded to a team with lots of free cap.
Ryan (Cubs): Today is the last day to re-sign your restricted free agents! All players that are left unsigned will be dropped tomorrow and eligible for free agency

Red Sox (Kris): We still have a MAX 20 prospects, correct?
Feb 26, 2024 9:15:10 GMT -5
Ryan (Cubs): Yes. 20 prospects is the MiLB max, you either need to drop a prospect or call someone up if you are over that limit.
Feb 26, 2024 11:56:08 GMT -5
Red Sox (Kris): I don’t, but I know that some do. So, to be clear, we can draft over the 20 limit as long as we cut down before the season starts?
Feb 29, 2024 23:45:26 GMT -5
Ryan (Cubs): Technically you should be dropping a player anytime a draft pick or trade takes you over the limit of 20. I must've missed it but Yankees needs to release one of his MiLB players, they are the only team over the limit right now

Rockies (Jose): Is Yuki Matsui rostered?
Mar 12, 2024 16:15:04 GMT -5
Ryan (Cubs): Technically you can't bid on Yuki in free agency until he pitches an inning in the MLB. You could have drafted him in the MiLB draft, but players that haven't made their debut can't be nominated in Free Agency.

Mariners (Rook): I do believe Ronel Blanco free agent final bid of $3/3 by LAD is invalid and the player should be returned to free agency. That was LAD last transaction and it put his cap -0.25. We can’t go negative cap. What say you?

Ryan (Cubs): @mariners, correct. LAD's bid on Blanco put him $.25 over the cap so the bid is invalidated. I've messaged LAD and dropped Blanco from his roster
